Elise is only 9 years old. At first glance, she is an ordinary girl. She goes to school, loves her mother and helps with the housework as much as she can. However, Elise has a very serious illness – childhood autism and speech delay.

In the first period after birth, the child developed normally. However, after only a year, Elise's parents began to notice that something was wrong with the child. She began to lag behind in physical development. After two years, it became clear that the child needed help. In kindergarten, she stopped playing with her peers and withdrew into herself. At the age of three, Elise underwent a full medical examination at the Children's Clinical Hospital, and the board of doctors diagnosed her with childhood autism and speech delay.

Elise's mother constantly takes her to classes with a physiotherapist, psychologist and other specialists to help the child socialize. Unfortunately, the results are not yet sufficient. Elise does not speak and is behind her peers in development. Last fall, the family was hit by a tragedy – the house in which the family lived burned down. No one was physically injured, but Elīze suffered severe emotional trauma.

To help the child recover from the fire and successfully integrate into society, intensive daily classes with specialists are needed, as well as modern developmental equipment. Elīze is waiting for the following rehabilitation course at the “Svetā Sofija” rehabilitation center, which helps children with similar diagnoses. During the intensive rehabilitation, specialists will work with the child using the transcranial micropolarization (tDCS) method, the bioacoustic correction method, chromotherapy and other innovative medical technologies. An ABA therapy course is also required. The cost of the rehabilitation course is 2,500 euros. For a family that lost their home in the fire, this is a very large sum.
